Valentino Paris Womenswear Summer/Spring 2013 collection

This year’s s/s Valentino collection has a religious grab; its mid-skirts and collared shirts are modest yet feminine. The colour palette is full of nudes, whites, blacks and a dab of the brand’s signature red.

Valentino’s romantic approach to the way woman should dress is classy and elegant. The dresses are all below the knee or ankle length and the shirt dresses are sweet but modest with it’s buttoned-up to the top collars.

From the simplicity of a romantic slip dress to the edge of a see-through plastic belted coat, or one made of strips of python, there was enough diversity in these garments to keep us interested.Transparent Mary Janes with Plexiglas wedge heels gave the clothes an extra air of modernity and lightness, and a colour palette mostly comprised of blush, ivory, and beige added to the delicacy.

The designers credited their hometown, Rome, as their inspiration, citing the city’s spirit of change, and its desire for reinvention.

teen vogue's best dressed of the day aka me

I am beyond happy that I have been featured in teen vogue's snapshot blog. One of the reasons is that I would love to write for them, it would be amazing. I completely forgot that I have even sent my picture to teen vogue so I literally screamed like a maniac when I saw a picture of me whilst scrolling through teen vogue's facebook page.  The look I've entered with was a grunged-up hi-lo sheer skirt that I bought in asos and my iamvibes t-shirt from their website. You can read the article here and this is the look:

It's all about Cara

Forget being a Kardashian, I would rather be a ‪Delevingne‬" - Karlie Kloss

Cara Delevinge is the hottest thing  around right now. My tumblr dashboard is literally filled with pictures of her and if I was going to pick up a random fashion magazine right now, I would surely see a picture of her walking down the catwalk or pulling a funny face backstage.

Everybody is going crazy for her dark thick eyebrows, pale locks, defined cheekbones and a pronounced pout. It’s the face that made her a Spring 2013 regular at every fashion week around the world: Marc Jacobs in New York, Burberry in London, Fendi in Milan, Rochas in Paris. But what made everyone fall in love with her is her quirkiness and what they have seen off-stage. She's always up for a good laugh and you can see her pulling funny faces on every picture. She's able to sacrifice her beauty shot for some fashion fun and that's what we all love about her.

Also as a teenage girl I love how quirky and funny she is. In her interviews she sounds just like a normal girl. I can relate to her in some sense, if you can come close to relating to a super model. She's absolutely gorgeous and her personality is so likable. So, I am too going crazy for Cara Delevinge.

I have been in love with parka's since well, forever. Those Jeffrey Campbell boots are amazing and they will be definately on my Christmas wishlist. I know I'm a bit behind with the Casio Gold craze but I still ought to get this watch. This outfit would suffice in cold autumn days.

shoes shoes and more shoes

As a girl I have an obsession with shoes, I mean do you know a girl that doesn't like going shoe shopping? I think the answer would be no, unless you're talking to someone who doesn't classify fashion as their priority.

It's fall now, so we need to swap our jelly sandals and flatform sandals to something more practical like boots. Boots are so universal, they go with everything. You can 'grunge up' a dress by adding a pair of military boots. Of course flatforms are still a must-have. So here's few pairs of shoes that I would consider a necessity  for fall 2012 and also some shoeispirations.

The Olsen Obsession

Everyone knows The Olsen twins, right? They have been in the film industry for as long as anyone can remember. Maybe they are not starring in any films or dramas right now but they are one of the biggest fashion icons at the moment.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have recently turned 26 years old but they are already well known American  actresses and fashion designers.  Their fashion label called 'The Row' is luxurious and minimalistic, it simply marries both Ashley's and Mary-Kate's style. The beautiful use of leather and elegant trench coats can be seen on the fall 2012 collection.

  The twins are known for their minimalistic and boho fashion sense. They are often seen wearing black oversized fur coats, flowy maxi skirts and suits. I honestly can't get enough of them. Their style is so effortless but well thought out as well as elegant. I find their outfits inspiring and I want to share some of my favourite pictures of The Olsens style;

P.S I know I haven't been posting for such a long time, but I'm back for good now and I'll post regularly I promise.

What the clothes I wear say about me

Clothes were always very important to me. Shopping is like my number one medicine for depression or a bad day, some people say tat food makes them feel better but it was always clothes shopping that did it for me. How possibly could food be better than the feel of a new silk dress against your skin? There's one thing that clothes and food have in common ; they leave you wanting more and suddenly you are trapped in a voracious cycle. Therefore I am self-confessed shopaholic.

The clothes I wear make me feel confident as I express myself through fashion.Fashion for me is so much more than just clothes. It is like a get-away from it all, a sense of escape from daily and dull life.I spend days looking through fashion magazines and watching catwalk shows admiring the haute couture collections. Haute couture is like a piece of art in a form of a dress or any clothing item, that you can wear and feel fabulous but that comes in a price.

My outfit represents how I feel, usually my outfit would be minimal but if I felt girly and the weather outside is perfect I'd go for a head-to-toe pastel look. There's lots of combinations that could transform you into a totally different person; toy can be a girly girl wearing ice-cream coloured pleated skirt, white frilly socks, peter pan collar shirt and a pair of pink suede miu miu heels or a grunge kid in a fur-trimmed parka, high waisted black jeans, oversize nirvana t-shirt and doc martens. It all depends on how you feel that day.

I have a horrible habit of judging people for what they are wearing. Knowing all the fashion trends and fashion sins automatically makes me look for flaws in an outfit. I know that people look at my outfits and do the same, but their understanding of fashion can me different or sometimes inaccurate.

Clothes are a big factor in making a good impression, hence I never ever wear tracksuit bottoms or sweatshirts outside the gym. no matter how comfortable they are, tracksuit has a word 'track' in it for a reason and it is not to wear it everywhere, Let's not forget that wearing the right clothes increase your chances in making friends with the right people which will be benefit in the future.

The clothes I wear say that i am probably a little too obsessed with fashion, but it is not so much of an obsession anymore, it is my life and hopefully I will have a career in a fashion industry, then i would be truly happy.

pastel mania

Pastel colours are always most fashionable colours to wear in spring/summer it is no different this year. The s/s shows were full of clothes in colours normally reserved for a nursery. Sickeningly sweet head to toe pastel looks are a spring no.1 trend.

Do not be afraid of the sorbet colours even if you are not brave enough to pull off a head to toe pastel look, you can mismatch them with various different trends like tribal or floral patterns. Shops like topshop and asos are full of pastel coloured clothe so take inspiration from these pictures and get ice-cream colours shopping!

Valentino S/S 2012

I was wondering what my first real post on my blog should be about and I decided to do a review/walk trough of Valentino s/s 2012 haute couture and ready to wear collection as it was one of my favourites.

It is full of variety- cotton lace frocks from off-white to black, intricate appliqués on organza, fine Chantilly net, and fields of flowers throughout. The clothes are designed with how a woman would want to feel and move in mind. The silhouettes are modest but flattering.High necklines and high waistlines, puffy selves and above the ankle hems.

Also the show included many of my favourite models such as Monika "Jac" Jagaciak,Kasia Struss, Josephine Skriver, Caroline Brasch Nielsen, Ginta Lapina and Frida Gustavsson.
